Black Drongos thrive from rice cultivation in Southern India
Most of the photos on this page and another page on this website (Themes – Eagles’ Eldorado) are taken in the Keoladeo National Park (earlier the Bharatpur Bird Sanctury) in Rajastan. I spent about one week per year there (mostly in January and February) during a first period in 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1982, and 3-4 days per year in 1996 and 1997 during a second period . During this ten-year period I saw it gradually deteroriate, manily by less and less water been available to the park, drastically reducing its wildlife richness. The large number of especially White-rumped vultures seen everywhere in India during the first period declined and is now reduced considerably. So some pictures from India on this website are just a memory. I also visited the Kanha National Park and the Kaziranga National Park in this period, where most photos of the mammals are taken.
